Case Histories
From Stone to Glass
The external façade of a prestigious art museum was decorated with animal head statues. The museum wanted glass reproductions to sell in its gift shop. A CAD mold was made and sent to Toledo Prototype. We used a 3D laser scanner as an efficient way to take measurements and translate them into a CAD model. We then made some adjustments and produced a prototype. We got the museum from a stone carving on the side of the building to a reproducible part they can sell.
Impeller reproduction
One of our clients needed to reproduce a cast iron impeller. The shape was too complicated to use a wooden sculpture from which to make the mold. Toledo Prototype printed a prototype and rapidly the client was able to complete the mold.
